6: Meet Sally-Anne, a Digital Fashion & Style Queen

Updated: Jan 16

Sally-Anne is what you might call a 'local girl' when it comes to instagrammers/influencers and indeed when it comes to me; because she lives in the same area as me. Of course, if you don't live where I live, as most of her followers don't, then she's not a local girl at all.

As a 'local girl', she came onto my radar about 3-years ago. One of my friends had tagged me into one of her posts, knowing I would like an item Sally-Anne was wearing (which I did), and I though 'ooooh, she's good, isn't she?'.

Because she is good. Back then when she 'only' had 20k ish followers (still VERY decent), and not the 120k+ she's got now(!!), her content was still really high quality. Really well styled, curated, shot and edited; and even back then I remember thinking she should (already) be a lot bigger than she was. Because her content deserved it. Especially alongside some huge accounts I'd seen and 'followed' with utter bobbins on them.

Thankfully, a few of her posts went 'viral' last year, and as such, her following grew to more of where (I believed) it should be. And she's not looked back since; her numbers are steadily and positively increasing every day.

When I wrote my initial hit-list for TWW, Sally-Anne was near the top; because not only did I want to know how she'd started it all (and what's next), but I knew it would an interesting topic for lots of women out there, whether they focus on fashion or not (you could be a travel 'grammer, or a cooking, gardening one). Sally-Anne is out there creating content and she's really good at it, so I wanted to be able to share her story (and her tips) with you.

When we sat down (despite being local, and knowing lots of the same people, our paths hadn't yet crossed), she was lovely and keen to share all that she'd learned, very often the hard way, in the hope of helping others.

Women supporting women yet again.

Enjoy.

Chops x

PS. Bit of background noise here, but hopefully nothing too annoying.

PPS. A lot of the information below has come directly from me - yes me - because this particular area (content creation) is one that I know well. With my ex-husband I created and delivered a lot of 'own' content, and then for a couple of agency roles, I have created and delivered other brands' content. It can be a minefield, so I've shared as much of my own knowledge (with support links) as I can... and without waffling on too much.
