58: Meet Ally: A fierce, strong, empowered pole dancing teacher and studio owner

Updated: Sep 28

Oh how I girl-crushed over Ally for the 2 hours I was with her; sitting across from her in her fab studio... I still am!

She's everything you think she'll be, in so far as she's beautiful, strong and a fierce empower-er of women... However, she's also vulnerable, single (how is that even a thing for a woman like her - if even Ally can find a good guy, what hope do the rest of us have?!), and aware of how much she (over) works.

... Because she does work hard. Yes she has a great team of instructors, and a fab family (and dad) that support her, but The Pole Room is her business and the hard work and the risk are hers alone.

When we chatted she was about to take 5-days off to go away, however, even then she was honest about the work she'd need to do while away. Which is the case for all small business owners' right? It never stops, unless we fully stop. Which we never do.

Ally's studio is amazing, and if you check out her socials, you'll find lots of content proudly shared by her students. They're (mostly) not skinny fitness fanatics; instead they're normal women who are using Ally's studio, and her classes, for both physical and mental health fitness... And it works.

I found out about Ally via a shared friend (and one of Ally's oldest clients), called Emily. I kept seeing Emily pop on my instagram stories doing all sorts of crazy pole moves while dressed in very little, and i LOVED it! Emily is perhaps a bit older than me (maybe nearly 50), and I know she had some physical health problems a few years back. The fact that she now feels confident enough to not only do this kind of exercise, but do it dressed in very little and then post it out on Instagram is proof what Ally's classes can do for you - the confidence they can give you - the power they can give you.

I've left Ally's place planning out parties I can have there and group sessions I can do with my friends. She's sadly a bit too far away for regular class attendance (as a single mum), but I will ABSOLUTELY be back to do something, soon.

But for now, enjoy.

Chops x
