42: Meet Amy & Jo: Two Philanthropic working mums bossing the soft-play business

Updated: May 18

I attended 'The Yard' many, many (MANY) times with my two, when they were younger; it was very often a life-saver. I also attended other reasonably local soft-play centres with them... That weren't anywhere near as nice.

And that 'nice-ness' made a BIG different to me, and lot of other mums; because even though The Yard isn't huge, and was/is certainly smaller than many of the others I attended, it was always really clean, friendly, and served the best coffee and cake in town!

It also meant when me and my two nippers left, we didn't stink of chip-fat?!

Yep, Amy and Jo were the saviours of my town when I was a young mum (I say young, I mean, with young kids), and I'm sure they are still this for hundreds of young mums today... Which is lovely.

And they love what they do.

It's not been easy, as they chat through honestly; not least the impact covid had on pretty much everything from that point on...?! And they knew nothing about running a business, or indeed a soft-play business before starting it, meaning they really did have to learn 'on the job' and the hard way. Which they did.

Thankfully, they also made great decisions which paid off. To the extent that it is still thriving as a business and as a much-needed parent hub in Stamford.

Enjoy.
