39 // Vid 2: Meet Helen: A kick-ass corporate political advisor who now runs her own successful comms agency

Hearing Helen's story, and journey, was exactly what I needed this week.

... I won't keep harping on about it (if you've seen my socials), but I mucked-up badly with a group video shoot last week, and I've felt like poo ever since. But Helen's (video) pod was booked in, which made me dig deep, pull-up my big girl pants and get back on it.

In the video I look tired (to me anyway), because I am tired. Sleepless nights, stress and worry about whether any of this is going to work, show. HOWEVER, I had the bright shining light of Helen sitting across from me and staring back at me, which made everything feel a whole lot better.

You see Helen is a huge champion of following your own path, and carving out your own unique journey; however, there was a time - a long time - she wasn't doing that, and she forgot that innate belief in herself. She was working in the corporate world, very successfully, and got swept up in it all.

However, as is FAR TOO OFTEN the case, when she had children, that corporate world unfairly and quite frankly, stupidly, spat her out; which made her dig deep, and put her big girl pants on... And somehow figure out a new way.

That new way was going freelance, in order to earn much-needed money, whilst also getting the right work-life balance for her 2 young boys. And that freelance career saw her organically grow into what is now a successful corporate comms agency employing 13 people (and counting).

And of course, Helen's now paid (big bucks) by those corporates who spat her out, but clearly still need what she brings to the table. Except now, it's fully on her terms.

And she's barely even got started.

I BLOODY LOVE (and needed this week), a comeback story like this!

Enjoy.
