36: Meet Chelsey: A VERY proud (and diligent) cleaner and a progressive business owner

Updated: Apr 13

I know (of) Chelsey, quite simply because I tried to book her a while back to come and clean for me... She came incredibly highly recommended, which is why, when I got in touch, she was fully booked. However, and as I've now found out, she's expanded since then and taken on some staff, so as soon as I'm able to (pennies-wise), I'll be getting her on board.

Podding a cleaner (a good one), was on my list from day one with TWW, because it's a profession, which Chelsey herself says, very often has a bad rep. And yet, as we all know, good cleaners are like gold-dust; to the extent that I have friends that go and pick their cleaners up, and drop them back - and feed them / provide them with food and drink treats every week - just to keep them happy and keep them on board... So why the bad rep?

It's surely down to a completely out of date class system, particularly in the UK. Cleaning is often perceived as 'beneath' some people, even though the results of which we all hold dear and value incredibly highly?!

What's more, (good) cleaners across the UK are actually earning a lot more money than many other (what would be perceived as) 'higher-profile' professions. It's crazy, and if I can achieve just one thing with this podcast, it's to help dispel this silly - ridiculous - myth.

Cleaning is a profession as old as time - and (wo)man - and it's something lots more of us should be keen to do, and proud to do... Just like Chelsea is.

Enjoy.

Chops x
