35 // Vid 1: It's time for Chops' own career story to lead the video charge...

As I have already said across mine and TWW's socials; it's time to next things to the next level, which means making some videos... Which means asking women to be brave enough to not only tell their story, but to be filmed while they do... Which means having a film to show them as a test case, so they can see it and will be reassured... Which means getting someone to be filmed 'talking' in a first, test case video.

... Which means me.

Because how can I ask that (bravery) of others, if I'm not willing to show it myself? As my dear friend, Fran, says in the chat, a lot of women are very scared to be seen online, it's a big deal. And it's a big ask.

However, I've done it... I've sat down and I've waffled on (and I really do waffle on?!) for this first video.

My dear friend, Fran, 'interviewed' me for this video, and acted as me for this test-case interview, which was also a big ask for her, and which meant I had to do my best to take the lead and keep the (chat) flow going. So if you wonder why I'm talking a lot, uninterrupted, that is why and I apologise up front.

I am incredibly lucky that Fran even agreed to do this video, so no complaints from me at all; I am blessed to have beautiful people like Fran in my life at all, let alone people that are also willing to step-up and show up for me, like this.

I have tried to be as honest as I can in my chat, within reason and with respect of people close to me; and even though some of what I have decided to leave in, is still pretty personal (and yes, awkward), it is also my truth. It's the truth of how I have been fundamentally shaped in my 46 years on this earth - my choices, my mistakes, and my unique life path - which has ultimately brought me to where I am today... Here with you and on This Woman's Work.

Enjoy.
