Katy is an energetic, driven, passionate woman. I've always admired her. And even when she broke up with her boyfriend (which is how we met - her ex and mine were friends), I still followed her on socials and was curious to see what she was up to. Whether that be designing new custom jewellery (which although completely relevant to her degree bears no link to her career since), travelling to interesting places or cold-water swimming in the UK in winter. She didn't post loads, but what she did post was cool and there (was) is generally always something interesting happening for and around her.
Because she makes stuff happen.
Job-wise, I always knew she did something interesting, but I wasn't sure what. Luckily for me (and hopefully all of you) that thought had logged in my brain; so one day many weeks ago, I decided to find out.
The answer? Katy works for the government. And has worked in both PR/Communications and on direct policy reform, hanging out a number 10 quite a bit (as she says in the chat, she knows what it all looks like inside of that place).
Thankfully, when I approached her and asked her to chat to me about it all, she said yes, which meant not only could I get the full low-down on her career, but I could also meet-up with her again and have a well overdue catch-up. It wasn't as long as I would have liked, but it's meant we're now meeting up again soon for a longer one. I love my job!
